Rouen, the capital city of the region, is less than 40 minutes away by car. Not to be missed are its attractive cobbled streets with many shopping and eating facilities, and the majestic cathedral which was the scene of Joan of Arc's death. Rouen, of course, has a convenient airport. Another airport which also serves the region (and Paris!) is at Beauvais, less than an hour away.
Wonderful views of the Seine can be enjoyed from the picturesque little towns and quaint villages which line its banks where the river coils, serpent-like, to the west of Rouen. Several little car and foot-passenger ferries cross the river at some of these spots. The ferries are inexpensive and run on a shuttle basis every 15 minutes or so. They provide an interesting and enjoyable alternative to crossing the Seine at Rouen itself. The most notable of these ferry crossings are at the picturesque small riverside towns of La Bouille and Duclair.
The region between Forges-les-Eaux and Neufchâtel-en-Bray is an area of outstanding natural beauty, best appreciated from the newly-opened "Green Way” tourist trail, following the scenic itinerary of the abandoned railway line through the breath-taking countryside.

The much-visited resort of Dieppe, which is also a busy fishing and ferry port, is only about 45 minutes drive from LE CHAT CHOCOLAT. Dieppe boasts excellent shops, restaurants (in excess of 100, many serving delicious sea food) and museums, and is a gateway to the first class West Coast beach resorts such as Deauville and Quend.
